SATURDAY GAMES - December 21, 2024   PLAYOFFS

7:30am
AMIGOS 4
ROCKETS 1 F

The 2nd place Amigos took on the 7th place Rockets here at 7:30. The Amigos weren't ready and started the game down a couple skaters. The Rockets took advantage of the laziness and took a 1-0 lead.

The rest of the day of 4 on 4 play, the Rockets were held off the scoreboard. Colby and Hugo could not keep up with Courtenay Brown.

In the 2nd Mark DeVincet tied it, then Mike DeVincent put the Amigos on top to stay. Al Panico's 2nd Championship will have to wait another season.

Goalie Ryan Hayes had the equivalent of the day off with defensemen like Ashe and Jesse out there in front of him. The Amigos will take on the Pipers in the next round of the playoffs.

8:30am
BUCCANEERS 10
MAVERICKS 1 F

The Wildcard Winning Mavericks took on the top seed Buccaneers at 8:30. Sub DJ was filling in for the Bucs 2nd round pic, and scored with 3:33 left in the first period, and that's all they would need.

Goalie Mark Forti got the 10-0 shutout win, making some awesome saves in the final few minutes to preserve that shutout.

Chris Ladouceur continues to shock the roller hockey world, as he scored 4 more today for his new Buccaneers team. That trade certainly backfired. All in all it was a tough game for the Mavericks and anyone named Mike or Chris.

LOW ENGERY OF THE WEEK AWARD

This week's low energy award of the week goes to John Quigg of the Amigos.

Quigg didn't even get out of bed, as he left his team high and dry for the 7:30am game.

His eligibility for the next round is now in question.
