 TUESDAY GAMES - December 17, 2024

6:30pm
EASTON 11
TITAN 8 F

5th and 6th place will clashed, and at the end of this one, they were both still in 5th and 6th place. It was a whiny little game, with each team looking to the refs to win it for them.

It was 6-5 Easton after two, and they managed to hang on with a pair of empty net goals at the end. Despite the win, Grasso was still angry.

Titan sorely missed Ricci, who is red hot iin scoring. Steve C. was unable to pick up the slack. Angry Mike McPherson and Layed Back Matt McPherson had most of the goals for their respective teams.

The good news is, we managed to collect all the jerseys from both teams this week.

7:30pm
COOPER 9
JOFA 7 F

3rd and 4th place meet up in the prime time game, and 4th place Cooper pulled to within a point of Jofa with one game left. Goalie Ryan Hayes has been on fire, and has won 3 in a row, and even had an assist this week.

Cip only had one goal for Cooper, but for him it was huge. Burge had 3 goals and Johnny Ice finally had more than just one. Captain Dennis McGonagle had a goal and 3 assists in the win.

Jofa continues to suffer without the services of Dave Niemi. This week Estrela and Mahoney did most of the scoring, but it was not enough.

"We need one of the Kelley's to step up," said Mahoney. "Only one can be a pretty face, the other needs to score. They can decide among themselves who is who."

8:30pm
KOHO 9
CCM 6 F

Last place was on the line and a date with unbeaten Bauer in the playoffs. A couple of sub upgrades helped Koho avoid the basement.

The good news for CCM was, they proved they can hang with any 2-8 team. Newly acquired Matt Whiffen had 3 goals, even though he was brought in to shore up the defense.

The bad news, was they couldn't find goalie Jeremy Russell's jersy until the game was over. You just can't make this stuff up.

For the winners, Ryan McDonough was one of the few non subs to score for Koho in the win. Courtenay Brown was not a factor until he reffed the late game.

9:30pm
BAUER 4
TPS 2 F

2nd place TPS seems to be the only team that can beat the unbeaten Bauer squad, but fell like every other team has this week.

It was a low scoring game, that came down to a Ryan Andrews goal with 2:01 to play. Mic scored an empty net shorthanded goal with 12 seconds left for the 4-2 final.

Bauer had wrapped up the top seed weeks ago, and thanks to a Jofa loss, TPS has locked up the 2nd seed.

Will these teams meet in the finals? Or will one of them choke in the playoffs ?

This Week's Scapegoat

This week's Goat Award is given to Bauer floater Brett Thornton.

With the game so close, he was unable to score and celebrate a late goal when up by 8 goals.

Maybe he can play some NHL 24 when he gets home.
